Democratic People's Republic of Korea

I just got some postcards from North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) and I thought what I should write. We all know the three leaders from Kim Family. We all know that is hard to travel there. Maybe some of you know that the Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceauşescuwas in love with everything he saw there and implemented some of the things in my country. The capital city is Pyongyang and is a typical communist town with large boulevards, almost empty, grey is the dominant color. The postcards that I have show a city that reminds me of Shanghai and Dubai but we all know the big difference. The most important is the Juche Tower, a symbol of all the communist ideas that was built in 1982. We can also see the Arch of Triumph in Pyongyang (Korean: 개선문) which was built to commemorate the Korean resistance to Japan from 1925 to 1945. There is also a factory and because I live in Romania, which was a communist country, I can tell you that this is a leitmotiv of the communist art. There is a beautiful old building and I think it is the tomb of king Dongmyeong (or Jumong if you have seen the south-Korean k-drama). Jumong was the first king of the ancient country of Goguryeo. Roughly 1,500 foreign tourists visit the country and for sure not south-Koreans and journalists. There are two companies that organize tours: Konyo Tours from Beijing and Viatges Pujol from Spain. I would love to go there because I want to visit the beautiful old temples, palaces and tombs from Joseon period or even older. I hope that the future will be a little bit more beautiful for thecountry.

Am primit nişte vederi din Coreea de Nord (Republica Populară Democrată Coreeană) şi m-am gândit la ce aş putea să vă povestesc. Toţi ştim că sunt conduşi de familia Kim, acum la al treilea conducător. Toţi ştim că Ceauşescu a fost fascinat de Coreea de Nord şi a implementat şi în România lucruri învăţate acolo. Toţi ştim că nu prea e uşor să vizităm această ţară. Dar dacă ar fi să mergem acolo ce facem? Capitala este la Pyongyang, un oraş important în timpul dinastiei Joseon, „modernizat” de noua conducere, dominat de bulevarde late şi locuri gri. În vederile mele imaginile de acolo arată de parcă ar fi Shanghai sau Dubai dar cu siguranţă nu e aşa. În două dintre vederi se poate observa celebrul turn Juche terminat în 1982 şi dedicat ideilor comuniste ce guvernează ţara. Se mai poate observa într-una din vederi şi o fabrică şi ne amintim că ele sunt un laitmotiv al lumii comuniste (vezi banii de pe vremea comunismului). Arcul de triumf a fost construit tot în 1982 pentru a marca rezistenţa coreenilor în faţa japonezilor între 1925 şi 1945. Istoria nu poate fi înlăturată cu uşurinţă, aşa că se poate observa şi mormântul regelui Dongmyeong, cunoscut nouă drept Jumong, fondatorul regatului antic Goguryeo. Acum, trebuie să vă spun şi că cei din nordul peninsulei nu prea au avut parte de democraţie în istorie. Regii au condus aproape tot timpul cu mână de fier, nobilii şi funcţionarii erau corupţi, birocraţia era imensă ca şi cum acolo s-ar fi inventat. Se pare că doar 1500 de străini vizitează anual Coreea de Nord. Este interzis dacă eşti ziarist/reporter, sud-coreean, dar nici americanii nu sunt primiţi cu flori. Se pare că există două companii care organizează tururi: Konyo Tours din Beijing şi Viatges Pujol din Spania. Eu aş merge. Sunt foarte curios ce se întâmplă acolo dar sunt conştient că zonele turistice nu prezintă partea reală. În plus, sunt nişte temple, palate, morminte, extrem de vechi şi de frumoase pe care chiar aş vrea să le vizitez. Eu sper că în viitor şi oamenii de acolo o să se bucure de tehnologia imensă a sudului care în acest moment domină lumea întreagă.
