Travel Tips this Holiday Season

THIS season is a holiday season for all three major monotheistic religions in the world. Christians – and there are lots of Christian denominations out there – celebrate Christmas. Jews celebrate Hanukah or the so-called Festival of Lights. Muslims celebrate the yearly Hajj pilgrimate at the Kaaba in Mecca. Virtually all continents in the world including Antarctica are ideal vacation spots this holiday season.

However, areas of your ideal choice will vary depending on your personality and what you really like or feel. If you are afraid of heights, then don't ski in the Swiss Alps or scale K2. But if you are one heck of an adventurer ala Amelia Earhart, then you may want to dare going to McMurdo Sound in Antarctica. Of course, there are occasional blizzards this season and it can get real cold out there but there are a few tours left about reserved only for the fittest.

Or if you want to go somewhere warmer, why not travel to Australia, New Zealand or even Tonga. It is summer in this part of the world right now and Tonga is well-known for experiencing the first sunrise in the world. You may want to spend New Year there and you may want to reserve early because booking can be toughly competitive at this point in the year.
