OBVIOUSLY, the cheapest hotels in the world can be found in Third World countries whose tourism spots are not yet that prominent and the only foreigners who have discovered their shores (valleys in landlocked instances) are the ones who are what we call as unorthodox.
These unorthodox tourists may be found in such exotic places as Laos or Cambodia and because the cost of living in these countries is relatively low, one can say that they have the cheapest hotels too.
Let’s start off with Vientiane. One of the relatively cheaper yet flamboyant hotels in the capital city of Laos is Leuxay Hotel. You can stay there at only $45 a night. For a developing country like Laos, staying there at that price is already cheap. You can have superior double room for that plus use of the pool is free. There is no curfew for the pool and the view around it is simply breathtaking.
Cheap hotels can also be found when you tour Europe and these are what we called as backpacker motels. You have an adventure trip with your friends and you stay together as a group, maybe renting three rooms at a time.
